Contemplative Mind-Body Therapies

Mind-body therapies are an important component of whole-person centered health. The foundation of these therapies is the understanding that the mind and body are inherently interconnected systems encompassing the whole mind-body continuum. These therapies are not adjunctive aspects of naturopathic care but a vital component that address the root of many health disturbances that stems from widespread and chronic nervous system imbalances. 

While many naturopathic therapies work to support the bodies biochemistry and structure, mind-body therapies directly influence the neuro-endocrine-immune network, the complex pathway by which thoughts, emotions, prior life circumstances, trauma, and chronic stress directly impact physical and mental well-being simultaneously; these unresolved imbalances can perpetuate inflammation, hinder adequate digestion, disrupt hormones, and weaken both immune function and mental health.

Mind-body integration is one of the major cornerstones of health and vitality. Through the personalized application of various yogic, Ayurvedic, and somatic practices we work to influence the multi-dimensional nature that merges to create the whole person- body, breath, mind/psyche, and spirit. Practices may include gentle movement, breathing, mindfulness/meditation, seasonal rituals, self-massage, and dietary/herbal support.

Contemplative Counseling

Similar to Yoga & Ayurvedic Therapy, Contemplative Counseling is a Dharmic-based therapeutic approach that helps you explore the nature of your own mind; all while cultivating clarity, compassion, and inner stability. By developing mindful awareness, you will experience less reactivity and more wisdom by fostering calm-abiding within. This practice complements other mind-body therapies by addressing the foundational patterns of consciousness that shape our health, our perceptions, and the way we relate to the world around us.

Manual Therapies

Manual therapy includes soft tissue massage, acupuncture/acupressure/cupping, and fascial release which directly targets patterns of tension, stress, and held emotion within the body. By easing muscular armoring and improving circulation, these techniques not only relieve physical pain but shift the nervous system from stress into safety and relaxation; in turn creating greater mental clarity and flow of vital energy throughout the mind & body.

Reiki Energy Healing

Reiki is a Japanese method focused on amplifying the body's innate healing intelligence. While modern health practices focus on physical and mental expressions of health, energy healing targets the subtle network of energy that surrounds, permeates, and organizes complex biological systems. Reiki improves sleep/rest, emotional balance and clarity, greater awareness of self, and deeply rejuvenates a worn out nervous system.
